Privacy Policy

Everything SAYN sees stays
on your device.

SAYN reads your Instagram follower data inside your own browser, using your own logged-in session, and shows it back to you. There is no SAYN server. There is nothing to send data to, so nothing is sent.

Effective August 23, 2026 Applies to SAYN — Instagram Follower Analyzer Extension ID aielpkkbjencbaeihlkcjjkhhjnfjfof
Where your data actually goes
YOUR BROWSER instagram.com your session SAYN panel runs on this page Browser storage on your device only no external server

Data moves in a closed loop between Instagram and your browser's own storage. SAYN's developer never sees it, and it never leaves your device.

§1

What SAYN does

SAYN is a browser extension with a single purpose: it reads follower and following data from your own, already-logged-in Instagram session and shows you analytics you can't easily see in the Instagram app itself — accounts that don't follow you back, ghost followers, new and lost followers, blocked accounts, who's hidden from your story, and similar views.

SAYN does not create an Instagram account, does not have its own servers, and does not act on your behalf anywhere except inside the instagram.com tab you already have open.

§2

Data SAYN reads

To build the analytics it shows you, SAYN reads:

SAYN never asks for or has access to your Instagram password. It piggybacks on the authenticated session your browser already has open with Instagram, the same way instagram.com's own page scripts do.

§3

Where this data lives

Everything SAYN reads or lets you annotate is written to your browser's own local storage on your device, scoped to the extension. Nothing is transmitted to SAYN's developer, to Instagram beyond the requests Instagram's own web client would already make, or to any other third party. SAYN has no backend server to send it to.

§4

What SAYN never does

Collect or transmit your data to a server
Sell or share data with third parties
Run ads or ad-tracking scripts
Load remote code into the extension
See or store your Instagram password
Track you outside instagram.com
§5

Permissions, and why

SAYN requests the minimum browser permissions needed to work, each for one specific reason:

activeTab
Lets SAYN detect when the current tab is instagram.com, so it knows when it's safe to show its panel.
scripting
Lets SAYN inject its analytics panel into the instagram.com tab you're already viewing.
tabs
Lets SAYN check the active tab's URL to confirm you're on instagram.com before doing anything.
Host access
www.instagram.com and i.instagram.com — required to make authenticated requests to Instagram's own endpoints using your existing session, the only way to fetch your follower/following data.
§6

Retention and deletion

Data stays in your browser's local storage until you remove it yourself. You can clear everything SAYN has stored at any time from the Settings → Danger Zone → Clear All SAYN Data option inside the extension, or by removing the extension entirely, which deletes its storage along with it.

Good to know

Uninstalling SAYN from your browser is a complete, permanent deletion — there is no copy anywhere else to remove, because none was ever made.

§7

Children's privacy

SAYN is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect information from children. It requires an existing, logged-in Instagram account, and Instagram's own terms set the minimum age for that account.

§8

Changes to this policy

If SAYN's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the "Effective" date at the top will change with it. Continuing to use SAYN after an update means you accept the revised policy.
